“Oh give thanks to the LORD, for He is good, For His lovingkindness is everlasting.” (Psa 107:1)
There are ample reasons to praise and thank the Lord. In Psalm 107 the psalmist is gives us reasons for praising God. The first reason cited here is God has redeemed us from the hand of the enemy and gathered His redeemed to be His people. In the wilderness wanderings of His people, He is guiding them in the right way to a place of permanent habitation. He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death and broke their chains that held them captive. He has broken down every barrier that was stopping them from experiencing spiritual freedom. He has quelled the storms that rose against them and calmed the mighty wave that was attempting to swallow them. He turned the dryness of their spiritual landscape into rivers and springs of water to quench their thirst and fed them the finest food so that they were satisfied with marrow and fatness. He also increased their families. “Let them give thanks to the LORD for His lovingkindness, And for His wonders to the sons of men!” (Psa 107:8)
