Hope for the new year

samuelfnp

While the world sings “Auld Lang Syne” and are encouraged to drink to the lost good old days, we as Christians must boldly step into the new year singing about the glorious days ahead and of our eternal hope.

I am not suggesting that we should not reflect on the past. In fact, we must pause and reflect on all the ways we have been reminded of our total dependence on Him in 2018.

However, whether we are leaving behind a trouble filled year or a blessed year, let’s march on to 2019 taking heed to apostle Paul’s encouragement to “press towards the goal forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, pressing towards the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus” Philippians 3:12-14

May we usher in the new year with hope in the Lord. May we seek His wisdom to live a life of gratitude. May we wait on Yahweh with great expectations and abound in our faith. May we retain our vigor as we walk without fainting and run without weariness. Isaiah 40:31

May we remain focused on our Savior and grounded in His unchanging promises. May He bless us with days to prayerfully reflect His love, peace and hope to a broken world.

Amen
